Welcome back to school to all of the traditional educators and to all of our nontraditional I guess you have fallen back into a nice routine now that summer camps are over and school sessions are in! I know I can’t wait to go on my field trips to the Guana Education Center (GTM NERR) Kenneth and his crew do a fabulous job! If you are in the area and can make the drive they are worth it. http://www.gtmnerr.org/education-and-training/student-programs/
Have you seen the emails from Mike Alyea with Blue Ocean Sails? Elena Duduk and I met with him last spring. He is very interested in helping the marine community in our area and is a no cost non-profit! Love those kinds of people wanting to help. The work he is planning with the ocean drifters looks very exciting. https://www.facebook.com/BlueOceanSails/
Did you know that the state conference is going to be in St. Augustine this year? The planning committee is forming as we need your help. Please let me know how you can help us out. It has been several years since we have hosted and I am very excited to see it back in the north east.
I hope you have a great first semester!
