OpenROV: Opportunity for Public School Teachers

by Dana on 2013/11/15

in Regional Reports, Southwest’ve been following the progress of the folks at OpenROV, a do-it-yourself, open-source underwater robot building program. After successfully raising money through an Internet campaign, they’ve developed a “low cost” kit that anyone can order to build a remotely operated vehicle. On a recent blog update, David from OpenROV said:

We’ve been working on a pretty exciting new initiative to get more OpenROVs into schools, and have an amazing new opportunity for PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL teachers to receive an OpenROV kit at a greatly reduced (basically no cost to the teacher or school).

We have a limited number of teachers who can take part in this initial pilot program, but I wanted to make sure we got the message out to folks in our community first. If you’re a public school teacher and want to participate, please send me an email ASAP ->

So it you are a public school teacher and interested in adding a ROV to your program, visit the OpenROV website to find our how to get one at a reduced cost.
