NOSB Video Contest for High School Students

NOSB 2013 Living on the Ocean Planet Video ContestThe National Marine Educators Association (NMEA), has once again joined the National Ocean Science Bowl (NOSB) in sponsoring the fifth annual “Living on the Ocean Planet” video contest. The contest is open to any high school student in the US. This year’s theme, “A Window into Freshwater Science,” encourages film makers to explore the interconnectedness of freshwater and marine ecosystems, including (but not limited to) our understanding of freshwater processes and the connection to the ocean, human impacts on freshwater ecosystems and the effects of invasive species.  The goal is to showcase student-developed, original videos that educate the general public about ocean science and marine issues, and address the Essential Ocean Literacy Principles. Prizes will be awarded at both the regional and national levels.Regional winners will be selected and announced in early May 2013.
