Hello FMSEA North Region Members

As summer begins, I’d like to take this opportunity to extend a special welcome to our new members as well as welcome all of our returning members.  If you are a classroom teacher, I hope you are enjoying your summer break and getting in some much needed rest and revitalization.   This email contains information about upcoming workshops and activities from all around the state as well as updates about past activities.  As always, if you have any special activities planned for your site, please let me know so I can include them in future updates.

You may or may not be aware that all memberships (except Life Members) expire with the conclusion of the conference in May.  If you have not already renewed, now is the time so you don’t miss out on any of your membership benefits.  You can find the membership form and address on the FMSEA website here. If you are choosing not to renew, I would appreciate feedback on why you aren’t renewing, so we can see how FMSEA can improve as an organization.

FMSEA 2012 Conference

I hope that you were able to join us in May at USF St Petersburg for the 2012 FMSEA Conference.  The conference was outstanding, great speakers, great Concurrent Sessions and, of course, a great opportunity to make some great connections! Congratulations to this year’s Award Recipients.

AES at FMSEA

This year a group of students from the Academy of Environmental Science travelled to the Conference to present a concurrent session about their Seagrasses & Estuaries programs.  Their session was very informative and included two hands-on activities that teachers could take home to use in their classes.  Congratulations to these students for a job very well done!!
